Dear Parent or Guardian,
I am delighted to have your child in class this year. I love teaching French and look forward to a productive and fun school year. Please don’t ever hesitate to contact me with questions and concerns. My classroom policies and guidelines listed below will give you a good understanding of what I expect in class and ways for your child to be successful.
Responsibilities of Student
Materials
You should be ready every day in class and bring the following materials:
Homework
In order to receive full credit for a homework assignment it must be passed in the day it is due. I do not accept late homework unless you have been absent.
Assessments
Besides homework, students are assessed through a variety of methods including tests, quizzes, projects, oral participation, and classwork. Foreign language testing days are 2 and 4. All graded materials will be kept in individual portfolios in the classroom.
Tests/Projects – 25% Homework – 10%
Quizzes – 25% Class Participation – 20%
Classwork – 20%
Absence
When you are absent from class, it is your responsibility to find out what was done in class and what homework was assigned. Anything you do not complete will count as a zero.
Extra Help
I will be available for extra help after school in room 226. Please let me know if you plan to come so I can make arrangements to be there.
Best wishes for a wonderful school year!
Sincerely,
Suzanne Weiss
